Rangel Romão is an Agronomist and Zootechnician by academic background. He holds a Master's degree in Agronomy with a specialization in Soil Science. With over 30 years of experience, he is also a partner and founder of Atlântica Simbios Consultoria e Serviços Ambientais Ltda since 1999.
The study of soil carbon has been part of his long professional journey.
In 2007, he was a member of the Economic and Financial Incentives Committee of GTPS - Brazilian Roundtable on Sustainable Livestock, an important forum for discussions on Climate Change.
In 2012, he published the research study "Organic Carbon as a function of land use", which analyzed Soil Organic Carbon in different landscapes of Southeast Brazil. He is also one of the authors of the article "GHG emissions due to slash-and-burn in sugar production plant, Southern Brazil."
His work also includes participation in the report "Food, Water, and Energy Security in Brazil with Proactive Investment in Natural Capital - PINC" in 2012. He had the opportunity to give a lecture at Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden, addressing greenhouse gas emissions management in the beef sector in Brazil.
As a collaborating partner of the ALLCOT Group since 2014 and an 'ambassador' of the CTX Carbon Trade Exchange since 2021, he demonstrates his commitment to environmental sustainability and active involvement in global climate markets. His expertise and leadership are essential in driving the team at Ecofix Natural Capital, combining technical and strategic knowledge to promote environmental sustainability and economic development.
Currently, he is involved in carbon quantification methodologies, biodiversity, and water asset assessment in an Environmental Services Payment project in the states of Pará and Mato Grosso.
